Notice from the Clinton County Auditor

Due to the potential spread of Coronavirus Covid-19 and in observance of the “Shelter at Home” order mandated by the State of Ohio, effective immediately and until further notice: The Clinton County Auditor’s office is closed to the public.

Appointments will be accepted for critical services on an as needed basis. To schedule an appointment, call or email:


Most Services Can Be Accomplished Online as Outlined Below:

  • CAUV renewal forms can be mailed to the auditor’s office: 46 S. South Street, Suite 130, Wilmington, OH 45177 or emailed to one of the email addresses listed above.
  • Complaint Against Valuation forms must be submitted to the auditor’s office by March 31, 2020 and can be mailed to the address above. Completed forms will be accepted without a Notary Public signature if complainant is unable to procure such services.
  • Dog licenses can be purchased online at www.doglicenses.us/oh/clinton. The link can also be accessed from the dog license tab on the left.
  • Vendor’s licenses can be purchased through the Ohio Business Gateway.
  • Cigarette license applications will be mailed to existing vendors. The completed applications along with the license fee must be mailed to the auditor’s office.
  • The auditor is strongly encouraging the use of electronic filing for deed transfers. A scheduled appointment is required to complete a deed transfer in the auditor’s office. Walk-in requests will not be honored.

Clinton County Citizen Transparency Now Available!

Clinton County's Citizen Transparency site provides financial transparency to the public with easy access to Clinton County's expenditure, revenue, budget, and payroll information for the current fiscal year, as well as a historical view of previous years. This interactive website can be used to search details of county expenses and revenues by category, department, fund, government area and vendor. The data within this site covers every level of county finances, from fiscal year payments to individual vendor payments.
